Reflection 1st year

I really appreciated this university project that gave me the opportunity to create my own website starting from zero on.

To be honest, I already had in mind to create my own website to promote myself professionally in the future, but I was never motivated enough to do so. Then, in the second semester of my Master's program, to all of us students were given the opportunity to create our own e-portfolio.

I must admit that it was not easy, especially getting over the initial bewilderment. Apart from the website building phase, all the tasks has been challenging for me. Managing all the sub projects was challenging, fun and diversified.

I am a very perfectionist person, that´s why it took for me a lot of time to correct every single detail in order to be satisfied with my work.

I think I still have a lot to improve in the website but all in all I am very happy about the outcomes not only of the website, but also of the tasks of the different subjects. I will definitely use and promote this website in the future for my career.

During this months of time I learned a lot, I improved my digital skills and I have been very creative, even if I have to admit that the e-portfolio represents the way I am: very schematic and analytical. Learning during the process meant to me also to deal with problems. What I wish I could make better from the starting point is the time management. I am not satisfied in how I managed my time, but at the same time I tried during the time to improve this aspect and I have learned how not manage the time for such a big projects for the future.

In the picture below you can find all the details of the journey of the creation of the e-portfolio.

Used tools for the website

  • After searching for a valuable website host provider, I had a look at the suggested ones such as Wix, Jimbdo and Weebly. All of this tools were really valuable but I couldn´t feel comfortable while using them. Then, I decided to research further for the website builder that could fit with my expectations. I could find the right template for my ideas and furthermore they have some optional tools, such as the request for an appointment that I will probably use in the future.

  • Canva is one of my favorite tools in terms of graphic design. As it is a very intuitive platform, you can easily design projects that looks very nice and personal. All the creative and graphic parts have been realized trough this graphic design online tool.

  • This platform helped me a lot during the research for the best colors for the e-portfolio. In their website you can look at lots of color palette and for every color you get the exact code.
